A neuropsychologist is a specialist who helps children understand how their brain influences behavior, learning, emotions, and interaction with the surrounding world. During a consultation, the neuropsychologist at the rehabilitation center not only conducts testing or observation but also finds an individual approach to each child to make the process and learning comfortable and effective.

When should a neuropsychologist consultation take place at the rehabilitation center?

When is a preventive consultation needed?
✔During periods of active development or significant life changes:
-Before kindergarten
-Before school or after the first grade
-In adolescence (10, 15, 18 years old)

What symptoms indicate the need to consult a neuropsychologist?

-Difficulty concentrating, lack of interest in play
-Slow development of speech or motor skills
-Coordination problems, unsteady movements
Withdrawal, low interest in communication with relatives

How does the consultation proceed?
The neuropsychologist will communicate closely with the parents to learn about the child’s concerns and development features. The child will then undergo individual testing in the form of play or special tasks designed to assess memory, attention, thinking, speech, and motor skills. The entire session takes place in a comfortable atmosphere to ensure the child feels safe and free from stress.

Contraindications:
There are no absolute contraindications for a neuropsychologist consultation. However, it’s advisable to avoid consultations during acute infectious diseases. Additionally, if the child is tired, exhausted, or under significant stress, it's better to reschedule the consultation.
